creative gift to share~

My desire to create began in high school where I learned how to sew.  After an unsuccessful cooking class, I needed to complete a home economics class in order to graduate; so, I took a sewing class.  At the time, I had no idea that the art of sewing would unleash my creative talents.  After that, I began making most of all my clothing.

I’m a native Chicagoan and relocated to Milwaukee over 20 years ago.  It took some time getting use to the small town, with big things to offer, but Milwaukee is where I call home and have come to love.

Milwaukee is a vibrant place for the arts and crafts.  Attending festivals in the summer and craft fairs is my most favorite outing – this is where I began to refuel my creative energy.  After a dormant stage, I began to sew again, years of creating I wanted to take my talents to a new level….so I began to pursue the art of jewelry making.

I have been making jewelry for more than 5 years and absolutely love it.  I enjoy everything about the processes of making jewelry.  My most favorite part of jewelry making is finding and selecting gemstones.  There is such a variety of stones in which to create that it becomes mind-boggling.  I enjoy creating designs with a combination of gemstones and other natural elements.  Within the last few years, I have ventured into bead stitching, this is an entirely new adventure and I am sure will bring me a lifetime of enjoyment.

My years of creativity have led me to a peaceful and quiet place.  I can spend hours on end in my over-flowing room of a studio; however it brings me such joy when I’m able to share my creations with others.

I continue to sew…some days it becomes a battle…on a good day I can do both.  My portfolio includes, jewelry, handbags, clothing and accessories; all are one of a kind creations.

I hope you enjoy my portfolio. I’m hopeful you’ll love what you find in My Trunk.  You may contact me for specials orders, Bride and Bridal party gifts.  I look forward to hearing from you soon or meeting you at a festival or craft fair in the near future.

An artist at heart, I love vibrant colors and all good things that spring to life from the mind and hands.

I'm in awe of creativity!

Recently, I've begun to explore my own creativity and the art in My Trunk is just a bit of what I've found.
I know there is much more inside just waiting to get out.  My Sistuh's Trunk allows me to share my creative journey with you.

I'm a native Chicagoan but I've traveled the United States extensively.  I've lived in New York, Dallas, and Atlanta before returning home to my favorite city, Chicago.  Dorothy really had it right when she said, "there's no place like home."

My B.A. in Marketing/Public Relations from Columbia and experience in the Special Events industry help me with the business side of things but I'm truly inspired by  . . .

. . .my years of travel,
the many cultures of the world,
family,
love,
color,
beauty,
fall leaves,
tropical islands,
Fern Gully,
tears,
loss,
broken hearts,
the Caribbean,
powder white sand,
sea shells,
sun rise,
full moons,
stars,
retreats with my sisters,
friends,
babies,
puppies,
a darn good mojito,
healing,
optimism,
laughter,
summer nights,
strawberries,
Sedona, the Grand Canyon, butterflies. . .

. . .and the unimaginable vastness of our ability to love and create~
